Building Member’s Relationship Quality Toward Online Community From The Elaboration Likelihood Model Perspective

    Get PDF
This study proposes a set of hypotheses based on the perspective of the elaboration likelihood model (ELM) of persuasion, a conceptual model that explains the formation of member’s relationship quality and subsequent behavioral loyalty that are prompted by central and peripheral cues, namely argument quality and source credibility. Moreover, we also argue that the extents to which argument quality and source credibility influence the formation of relationship quality are moderated by two factors: member’s perceived personal relevance and user expertise. Based on a sample of 320 members from several well-known interest-based online communities, our research findings show that (1) both argument quality and source credibility have positive effects on member’s perceived relationship quality and relationship quality has a positive and significant effect on behavioral loyalty; and (2) both personal relevance and user expertise positively moderate the relationship between argument quality and relationship quality, and negatively moderate the relationship between source credibility and relationship quality. Implications for practitioners and researchers and suggestions for future research are also addressed in this study

Molecules of the title compound, C13H10ClN3O3, form centrosymmetric dimers via intermolecular N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds generating an R 2 2(8) motif. The dimers are further connected through an O⋯Cl—C halogen bond [O⋯Cl = 3.233 (1) Å and O⋯Cl—C = 167.33 (1)°] into a chain along [110]. The secondary amide group adopts a cis conformation. Weak C—H⋯N hydrogen bonds among the methyl benzoate and pyrimidyl rings are also observed in the crystal structure

Why Focal Firms Share Information? A Study of the Effects of Power and Information Technology Competence

Supply chain management has become an important issue for Taiwan\u27s manufacturing industry due to escalating global competition. Virtual vertical integration is an important issue in supply chain management. Because organizations only have limited resources, they pursue long-term partnership with specific transaction partners. They share information to improve visibility, speed responses to markets, and reduce costs from information distortion or information asymmetry. This study empirically explores the factors affecting inter-organizational information sharing from the perspective of focal firms. 1,000 questionnaires were administered to top 1,000 manufacturing companies in Taiwan, with 139 valid responses. The results show that partner\u27s power and relation-specific asset investments positively affect inter-organizational information sharing. On the other hand, the partner\u27s power does not significantly affect the organization\u27s relation-specific investments. This study further investigates the moderating role of information technology competence. The result indicates that when an organization has lower information technology competence, the relationship between the partner\u27s power and relation-specific investments is significant. Implications and discussion are then provided

The Web 2.0 model has aroused vast attention as it alters the traditional role of Internet users as pure information receivers. Wikipedia, as one of the most successful case of the Web 2.0 model, creates an online encyclopedia through the collective efforts of volunteers. Shared freely by all Internet users, it forms an online community platform on which users can seek and share knowledge. This study investigates the factors that affect the adoption of Wikipedia. Based on the TAM of Davis (1989), perceived critical mass, community identification, and perceived information quality were incorporated into the research model to explain the intention and usage of Wikipedia. This research is a work-in-progress and a questionnaire survey will be executed, targeting at Internet users who had prior experiences with knowledge seeking on Wikipedia

In the crystal structure of the title molecule, C13H14N4, the two pyridyl rings are not coplanar but twisted about the C—N bond with an interplanar angle of 71.1 (1)°. In the crystal, the molecules form dimers, situated on crystallographic centres of inversion, which are connected via a pair of N—H⋯N hydrogen bonds. C—H⋯π-electron ring interactions are also present in the crystal structure. The title molecule adopts an s–cis–anti–s–cis conformation in the solid state

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C16H19N4O2 +·PF6 −, the cations and anions are situated on centres of inversion. Thus, the N—H H atom is disordered over both N atoms due to symmetry. In the crystal, molecules are connected via N—H⋯F and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The cation adopts the ⋯AAA⋯ trans conformation in the solid state

Integration of Genetic Programming and TABU Search Mechanism for Automatic Detection of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Cervical Spondylosis

Cervical spondylosis is a kind of degenerative disease which not only occurs in elder patients. The age distribution of patients is unfortunately decreasing gradually. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is the best tool to confirm the cervical spondylosis severity but it requires radiologist to spend a lot of time for image check and interpretation. In this study, we proposed a prediction model to evaluate the cervical spine condition of patients by using MRI data. Furthermore, to ensure the computing efficiency of the proposed model, we adopted a heuristic programming, genetic programming (GP), to build the core of refereeing engine by combining the TABU search (TS) with the evolutionary GP. Finally, to validate the accuracy of the proposed model, we implemented experiments and compared our prediction results with radiologist’s diagnosis to the same MRI image. The experiment found that using clinical indicators to optimize the TABU list in GP+TABU got better fitness than the other two methods and the accuracy rate of our proposed model can achieve 88% on average. We expected the proposed model can help radiologists reduce the interpretation effort and improve the relationship between doctors and patients
